Although, as I mentioned before, I found that the feature did not work as advertised. This was because of a problem with missing elements. And the fact that I could drag the image content inside the Artboard area seemed to make things more difficult. It is not clear that the big display screen provides a real advantage with the Artboard modus operandi. Probably, if the iPad is big enough, all images on the Artboard could fit inside even without cropping. I noticed that the Artboard works slower than using the actual image and running a scale or rotation on the image itself.
If you have been holding off upgrading because the previous versions of Photoshop have been sufficient for you, then by all means give Lightroom a go. Personally, I think that the version 8’s entry was a pretty good thing for Lightroom. It gave the app much greater self-reliance in dealing with the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. We used to have to wait for Photoshop releases, bug fixes, patches, etc. with the PS Plus monthly subscription. Now, one can download updates for the entire family, or just for themselves as needed, or even install it on multiple devices so long as Lightroom is signed in with their subscription credentials.
