Zameer: The Fire Within is a 2005 Hindi romantic action film.[4] Devgn plays Talwar, a detective investigating a murder where it is clear that the crime was committed by people unseen, beyond the room in which the murder was committed. Thus, the police find it extremely difficult to determine the murderer or murderers. A young and beautiful woman in the room at the time of the murder confesses her innocence and asks that her name not be mentioned as she is married and if she is arrested, then her husband will divorce her and desert her. She also reveals that she is in love with Talwar and wants him to devote all his energies to catching the real murderer. Talwar catches the real murderer before he can escape through the door. The mother of the real murderer pays Talwar a bribe to fix the evidence.Talwar goes with her to the marriage commissioner’s office, where he and the mother of the real murderer take her home. Later on, an unknown person threatens Talwar and he is taken to a hospital. Talwar survives the attack but is taken to the police station. It is revealed that Talwar and the groom had great difficulty in the marriage on account of the love that Talwar had for the girl. Thus, the groom wants to burn Talwar alive. In the end it is learned that the murderer had paid the police commissioner to enter Talwar’s room and had poured kerosene on Talwar while everyone slept and set him ablaze. The girl had borne a child, the son of the real murderer after the fire. The boy is adopted by the girl’s mother, thus clearing her name.[5][6]
Devgn, his wife, daughter, and child leave India to be with family in the United States. But the family cab on the return journey, but while passing through the border, they receive word that the child was fighting for its life. The family leaves India and fights to get the U.S. embassy to allow them to bring the baby back to the United States. The family amazes embassy officials by gaining a celebrity status in the United States being accepted at all important occasions by the President and others. At the end of the film, as Talwar and Weena are leaving for India to return the adopted son of the real murderer to his mother, the film ends with all couples sitting together watching their new born child play with a toy as they drift off to sleep.[7]
